Daikokusama is one of the goods in Japan. Most people in my hometown believe in the Shinto religion. Daikokusama is said to prevent families from experiencing bad luck. Thus, we thank him by giving him a lot of foods on the day.

The second characteristic is nature. My hometown is surrounded by mountains. You can see two big mountain wherever you are in my hometown. The one is called Chokai san”, another is called Gassan. They are believed that there are gods at each mountains, and we go there sometimes to pray for ancestors. In winter, there would be snowed in the top of mountains, and the scenery is so beautiful. We talk about the beautifulness when it is visible, because it is usually cloudy and you cannot see that all the time in winter.

The second characteristic is nature. My hometown is surrounded by mountains. You can see two big mountains wherever you are (the second use of hometown here feels a bit redundant). One is called Chokai-san, another is called Gassan. It is believed that there are goods at each mountain, and we go there sometimes to pray for our ancestors. In the winter, there is snow on top of the mountains, and the scenery is so beautiful. We talk about its beauty when it is visible, because it is usually cloudy and you cannot see it all the time in the winter.

  • それぞれの山に:at each mountain ※eachのあとは単数形
  • 先祖:our ancestors
  • 冬に:in the winter ※通常はtheがあってもなくてもok。ただし、特定の年の冬を指す場合はtheが必要。ということで常にtheをつけるようにした方がミスする心配もなさそう。
  • 山々の頂上に雪がつもる:there is snow on top of the mountains
  • 景色:the scenary
  • いつも:all the time  ▼こちらに詳しく
